Marcia Prezioso

Violin

Marcia Prezioso was born and raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She attended and received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Music Education and Music Performance respectively, from West Chester University in West Chester Pa. After graduating in 1980, she started and developed the string program in The Downingtown Area School District (PA) starting with 80 young musicians which grew into a program of over 800 string students in just the elementary schools alone by 2015 when Ms. Prezioso retired. In addition to teaching string classes and conducting the orchestras, Marcia developed a Mariachi group, an Honors orchestra and various String Festivals. She was a guest string clinician and conductor in the tri-state area and also performed in the Landsdowne Symphony Orchestra for over 25 years. Marcia studied Violin with Raymond Montoni, Helen Kwalwasser, and Sherry Kloss. She now divides her time between PA and Fort Myers with her husband Bill and their 2 dogs Cody and Gracie. In addition to music, Marcia enjoys tennis, gardening and reading by the pool.
