Liz Kimball

Stage Director/ Choreographer

Liz is delighted to return to Gulf Coast Symphony, after directing and choreographing last year’s production of South Pacific, as well as Carousel. Select directing and choreography credits include the world premiere of HappyFoods (co-conceiver, Music Theatre Company), The Gondoliers (OperaDelaware), Heart and Music (conceiver, The Paramount Theatre), Once Upon a Mattress (Louis Theatre), The Visit, The Sixth Man (The University of Texas at Austin).  She has served as voice/text coach for numerous productions including A Steady Rain, The Fantastics, And Then Came Tango, and The Cataract, and was a founding ensemble member of The Music Theatre Company. As a performer, Liz has appeared in over 70 productions throughout the country including Paper Mill Playhouse, McCarter Theatre, The York, La MaMa, Walnut Street, Weston Playhouse, Zach Scott, Arizona Broadway Theatre (World Goes ‘Round – Zoni Nomination), Indiana Rep, among many others. Awards include Austin Critics’ Table Award (Jekyll and Hyde), Austin Live Theatre Recognition (Threepenny Opera), and the Sarah Siddons Award for Excellent in Theatre. Liz has lectured/guest taught at NYU, Mount Holyoke, Temple University, Atlantic Theatre School, Upright Citizens’ Brigade, and Southeastern Missouri State, and currently teaches at The New School for Drama in NYC. She received her MFA from the University of Texas at Austin, and BS from Northwestern University.
