20 Days of Music

Gulf Coast Symphony will present more than twenty free events throughout Southwest Florida from January 15 through April 8, 2018. Activities include ensemble performances, Orchestra Explorer Series, Symphony Storytimes, Musical Discovery Zones™, outdoor concerts, lunch and learn conversations, and so much more!

  • Orchestra Explorer Series: Strings at Royal Palm Room/Broadway Palm TheaterJanuary 28, 2018

    This free, immersive education experience delves into the instrument families that comprise the orchestra. Each 1-hour event is geared for grades K-6, and combines age appropriate performances and Q&A sessions with hands-on opportunities for children to see, hear, touch, and play symphonic instruments. This event will focus on the strings; violin, viola, cello, and bass.

    This series, designed for young children (up to age 5), pairs a librarian with a Gulf Coast Symphony musician, and encourages literacy. The librarian reads a music-related story and a Gulf Coast Symphony musician provides accompaniment and an introduction to their instrument. Music-related books are also displayed for families to check-out to read together at home.

    Four Freedoms Park in Cape Coral comes alive with the premier culinary and cultural event of the season. Enjoy a wonderful afternoon of great tastes from some of the best restaurants Cape Coral has to offer, and a wide variety of wide variety of beers, margaritas, and wine. Local bands perform throughout the day, and the afternoon caps off with Symphony at Sunset – performed by the Gulf Coast Symphony! All proceeds benefit scholarships and music education outreach programs within our community.

    What To Know When You Go

    • Admission is free
    • Gates open at 12:00 p.m., event ends at sunset (~6:00 p.m.)
    • Purchase food & beverage tickets on site; no outside food or beverages or coolers allowed
    • Bring lawn chairs and/or blankets
    • Leave pets at home
    • Enter from Sunnybrook Avenue at Cape Coral Parkway; Sunnybrook Avenue and Beach Court will be closed to vehicle traffic
    • Handicap Accessible parking available at SunTrust Bank (530 Cape Coral Pkwy E)
    • FREE PARKING Club Square (with shuttle to park), the Veterans Museum (with shuttle to park), and Big Johns Plaza (with shuttle to park).
