Lee County Library System Programs
We are proud to partner with the Lee County Library System to bring a variety of free events to branches all around Lee County. Children, adults, and their families can experience a Musical Discovery Zone™, Symphony Storytime, or ensemble performance at one of their local public library branches. We also offer a Gulf Coast Symphony Ticket Access Pass for our concerts at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall!
Musical Discovery Zone™
Musical Discovery Zones™ allow children (and adults!) to meet several musicians from the orchestra and can try their own hand at playing some instruments.
During this event, a Gulf Coast Symphony musician partners with a librarian to bring a story to life. This series is geared for pre-school children, and promotes literacy. Librarians identify and display music-related books and encourage attendees to read further.
Lunch and Learn
Lunch and Learn classes are first steps in learning about symphonic music, led by Gulf Coast Symphony musicians. Musicians will lead classes on various music topics including music examples of this seasons concerts, music history, information about the musician’s instrument, among others. Lunch and Learn classes are held at various locations throughout Southwest Florida and last approximately 1 hour. Participants are encouraged to bring their lunch and learn more about music.
We love playing music in the community. You can find small groups of Gulf Coast Symphony musicians at select library branches throughout the season performing some of their favorite pieces.
