Community Events

In addition to our performances in the concert hall, we are committed to presenting dozens of educational and community engagement activities throughout Southwest Florida. Working with dedicated partners, our activities are just one example of how we bring our community together through music. We are always adding additional activities, so be sure to sign up for our email list!

The FREE Orchestra Explorer Series gives kids the chance to interact with musicians and their instruments in a fun and relaxed setting. The Series includes a Musical Discovery Zone™, where kids meet musicians and try playing some of the instruments. The musicians give examples of the different sounds that the instruments make by playing short classical pieces, as well as pieces kids will recognize. Throughout the program, the musicians are more than happy to answer any questions. Finally, the program concludes with a performance by the musicians!

We are proud to partner with the Lee County Library System to bring Symphony Storytime to branches all around Lee County. During this event, a Gulf Coast Symphony musician partners with a librarian to bring a story to life. This series is geared for pre-school children, and promotes literacy. Librarians identify and display music-related books and encourage attendees to read further.
