Gulf Coast Symphony Unveils New “Pops at the MACC” Concert Series

Fort Myers, FL – The Gulf Coast Symphony is excited to announce Pops at the MACC. This intimate concert series brings familiar and beloved music to life with full orchestral performances. All shows will be held at the Music & Arts Community Center (MACC), with two performances each evening, at 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM.

The inaugural concert will launch the series on Saturday, October 18, with The Music of Star Wars. Audiences are invited to journey through the Star Wars saga’s epic soundtrack for all nine Skywalker Saga films. Under the baton of Maestro Kurtz, this performance will recreate the immersive musical world of a galaxy far, far away. Audience members are encouraged to dress as their favorite Star Wars character as the MACC transforms into the Mos Eisley Cantina. Please note: this presentation will feature music only (no film screening). Tickets start at $62.

Subsequent concerts in the Pops at the MACC series include:

November 1, 2025 – Epic Journeys & Adventures: A sweeping selection of Hollywood’s greatest soundtracks, from Indiana Jones and Pirates of the Caribbean to Braveheart and The Lord of the Rings.

November 8, 2025 – SciFi & Fantasy Soundworlds: The music of Also sprach Zarathustra, Star Trek, E.T., Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Jurassic Park, Avatar, and more, taking listeners beyond the screen into wondrous realms.

March 14, 2026 – Echos of the Danube — A program celebrating the rich musical heritage of the Danube region. (Details to come.)

Each concert will offer performances at both 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM.

Founded in late 1995 by its current music director and CEO, Dr. Andrew Kurtz, the Gulf Coast Symphony (GCS) is now the second-largest non-profit performing arts organization in Lee county.
