Summer Jazz with the Gulf Coast Jazz Collective (GCJC) continues on Aug. 20 at the Music & Arts Community Center (MACC) with Footprints: A Celebration of Wayne Shorter.

Few musicians have shaped the sound of jazz across as many decades, or in as many directions, as celebrated jazz saxophonist and composer Wayne Shorter, from his groundbreaking work with Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers and Miles Davis, to the electric landscapes of Weather Report.

Comprised of drummer and GCJC artistic director Paul Gavin, Brandon Robertson on bass, and pianist Zach Bartholomew, and featuring a special guest saxophonist, the Gulf Coast Jazz Collective celebrates Shorter’s timeless voice and extraordinary legacy.

To purchase tickets for Footprints: A Celebration of Wayne Shorter with the Gulf Coast Jazz Collective, call (239) 277-1700 or visit MACCtickets.org. The Music & Arts Community Center is located off Daniels Parkway at 13411 Shire Lane, on the campus of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fort Myers.
