MACC presents Blending In: String Quartets Reimagined Aug. 9

The Music & Arts Community Center (MACC) presents Blending In: String Quartets Reimagined, an Apple Pie Concert, on Saturday, Aug. 1, at 7:30 p.m.

What happens when two beloved string quartets break the rules? Blending In transforms the traditional quartet experience with a bold new sound world, featuring just three string players joined by a multiple-woodwind artist as the unexpected fourth voice. 

The evening’s ensemble includes Frank Sanders (woodwinds) and Natalia Rosen (violin), and the program will feature String Quartet No. 1 (“From My Life”) by Bedřich Smetana and String Quartet No. 12 (“American”) by Antonín Dvořák.

Part of the MACC’s welcoming Apple Pie Concert series, this relaxed concert experience blends live music with engaging storytelling, followed by a slice of apple pie and a cup of coffee or tea shared with the artists and audience after the concert. Come for the music, stay for the pie!
