Each musician is expected to attend all rehearsals fully prepared and to comply with all rules, policies, and expectations of Gulf Coast Symphony orchestra members. A player should not miss more than one rehearsal for any particular concert series and may never miss the dress rehearsal. Exceptions to this policy will be made on a case by case basis by the Music Director. A player is expected to notify the section principal as soon as possible if they are going to miss a particular rehearsal. If you miss more than two rehearsals for any performance (see the enclosed schedule for complete list of rehearsals), you may be asked not to play that concert, or you may be asked to audition for the Music Director to demonstrate your mastery of that program. Please note: section seating is on a rotational basis, and is at the sole discretion of the Music Director.
In order to effectively plan for every concert and to ensure the highest possible artistic integrity of our organization, we must know now if you must be absent from any of the performances of the season.
Please review these dates carefully. Once you have committed to play a concert, it should take priority over other engagements.
Last minute absences from regular rehearsals should be reported to Andrew by text message to Andrew’s cell at (239) 281-6180 or by email (andrew@gulfcoastsymphony.org). Please also notify your section leader as soon as possible. If you are a woodwind or brass player, you are required to get your music to rehearsal.
I understand that my performances and rehearsals with Gulf Coast Symphony may be recorded or photographed, and I give my permission for Gulf Coast Symphony to use those recordings and images as they see fit, including for broadcast of any type.
