Chayning Jenkins

Sister Mary Hubert

As a product of Alabama State University’s esteemed Department of Theatre Arts, Chayning is delighted to share her professional debut with Gulf Coast Symphony as Sister Hubert in Nunsense II. Although Chayning elected Political Science as her confirmed field of study during undergraduate matriculation, she was no stranger to the Leila Barlow stage, landing principal roles in productions such as Jesus Christ Superstar, The Color Purple, Black Nativity, & Dream Girls. She also represented the department at the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, winning the top award in her region for 2 consecutive years: the Irene Ryan award. As Chayning embarks upon this serendipitous post-graduate venture, she looks forward to maturing as an artist and the refinement that working alongside her talented fellow thespians will bring.
