Trumpet Talk: An Apple Pie Concert
Join us for the very first of our new Apple Pie Concerts—a delightful blend of music, learning, and community. These matinee events pair intimate and captivating performances with an engaging presentation, followed by a slice of apple pie and a cup of coffee or tea, shared with friends and fellow music lovers.
Our debut program features Trumpet Talk with Cindy Scaruffi-Klispie, a world-class trumpeter with an extraordinary international career. Cindy has performed with top orchestras including the Chicago Symphony, Boston Symphony, and Rome Opera, and studied with many of the greatest brass players of the 20th century.
In this engaging and personal presentation, Cindy will take you on a musical journey through the history and evolution of the trumpet—from its ancient origins to its role in modern orchestras. You’ll hear key repertoire that showcases the trumpet’s versatility, power, and brilliance, all interwoven with stories and insights from Cindy’s remarkable career.
Cindy will be joined by GCS staff collaborative pianist, Julie Carver.
Whether you’re a longtime classical fan or just curious to learn something new, Trumpet Talk is the perfect way to spend a Thursday afternoon. Come for the music—stay for the pie!
