June at the MACC celebrates iconic American sounds

From the swing of Fats Waller and the harmonies of the Andrews Sisters, to the soul of Motown and the beloved melodies of Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons, June at the MACC is a celebration of iconic American sounds.
This June, the Music & Arts Community Center (MACC) presents The Four C Notes (June 4), Wood Songs (June 18), The Sounds of Soul: Motown & Beyond (June 20), Gulf Coast Jazz Collective’s Ain’t Misbehavin: The Wit & Swing of Fats Waller (June 25), and America’s Sweethearts (June 27).

June 4 | MACC Presents The Four C Notes
6 pm & 8:30 pm at the Music & Arts Community Center
Fans of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons and the Broadway sensation Jersey Boys will love The Four C Notes, featuring four world-class vocalists backed by a live band performing iconic classics such as “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” and many more!

June 20 | MACC Presents The Sounds of Soul: Motown & Beyond
6 pm & 8:30 pm at the Music & Arts Community Center
With superior vocals and slick dance moves, The Sounds of Soul presents a combination of Motown classics and some of the greatest pop, soul, and R&B hits ever written, including hits from The Temptations, The Four Tops, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, The Supremes, Lionel Richie, Tina Turner, Barry White, and more.
June 25 | Gulf Coast Jazz Collective Ain’t Misbehavin: The Wit & Swing of Fats Waller

Summer Jazz with the Gulf Coast Jazz Collective returns to the Music & Arts Community Center on June 25 with Ain’t Misbehavin: The Wit & Swing of Fats Waller. Featuring a special guest vocalist, this spectacular evening celebrates the wit, charm, style, and swing of iconic jazz pianist and singer-songwriter Fats Waller.

From Broadway to big band in three-part harmony, the ladies of America’s Sweethearts will grace the MACC stage with selections from the Great American Songbook, classic Broadway, pop tunes from the 1950s, jazz and more – all with a slice of old-fashioned fun!
