American baritone Jason Switzer is quickly proving to be one of the most adept singers working in the United States.  A musician of exceptional skill and dramatic versatility, he continues to deliver commanding performances in both the contemporary and traditional operatic repertoire. Jason’s most recent season includes performances of Salome with Utah Opera as well as Hansel and Gretel with Opera Memphis, Fallujah with New York City Opera, and La Boheme with the Gulf Coast Symphony. Eager to explore contemporary works, he has been heard in The Death of Klinghoffer (Adams), Tell-Tale Heart/Van Gogh (Copeland/Gordon), and Hydrogen Jukebox (Glass) with Long Beach Opera as well as world premieres of Fallujah (Stokes), Danse Russe (Moravec), The Always Present Present (Westergaard), and Slaying the Dragon (Ching). Other modern works have included Glory Denied (Cipullo) and Azaio (Brown). Jason is a graduate of the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia.
