Scenic Designer

Mr. Dean has designed sets for more than 100 productions at nearly every theater in the Sarasota, Bradenton, and St. Petersburg areas. For Sarasota Opera, Mr. Dean has designed the sets for I Lombardi alla prima crocciata (2011), Giovanna d’Arco (2010), The Barber of Seville (Fall 2008), I due Foscari (2008), Atilla (2007), Les Contes d’Hoffmann (2001, 1995), La rondine (1999), Ernani (1997), La jolie fille de Perth (1996) and Nabucco (1995), as well as for the Sarasota Youth Opera productions of The Hobbit (2008), The Second Hurricane (2006), The Little Sweep (2005) and The Language of Birds (2004). His other credits include property design for NBC-TV and the PBS Theatre in America series. He also has been the recipient of the Florida Individual Artist Fellowship Award for set design.
