Yvonne Cox

Harpist, Astralis Chamber Ensemble

Yvonne Cox is an active freelance harpist currently based in Las Vegas. Drawing inspiration from a wide range of musical genres and artistic disciplines, she seeks to spark creativity and connection through both performance and collaboration. She regularly appears with ensembles such as the Boston Lyric Opera and the Cambridge Symphony Orchestra. Her orchestral work has taken her to festivals throughout the United States and Canada, including the PRISMA Festival Institute Orchestra, Miami Classical Music Festival, and Brevard Music Center Orchestra, where she had the opportunity to perform alongside bluegrass legend Ricky Skaggs. Among her favorite performance experiences are live-to-film concerts, where music and cinema come together in real time. Yvonne has brought to life beloved scores from films such as E.T., The Wizard of Oz, and Frozen and Jaws with the Cape Symphony Orchestra. In 2023, Yvonne made her debut with theHenderson Symphony Orchestra, where she was featured throughout the season as “The HarpGirl.” A highlight of her appearances was her solo performance of Alberto Ginastera’s electrifyingHarp Concerto. Yvonne holds a M.M. from the New England Conservatory, where she studied with Jessica Zhou, Principal Harpist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and a B.M. from the University of Arizona, with Dr. Michelle Gott.
