MusicWorks!
MusicWorks! is an El-Sistema based program whose primary goal is to empower children to achieve their full potential through the study and performance of music. Students (grades 2-8) will learn an instrument from the string family (violin, viola, cello, bass), and perform as a string orchestra, and in smaller string ensembles. Students will receive daily instruction throughout the school year. Classes include individual and group string instruction, chorus, music theory, and music history. Students will be given multiple performance opportunities, including at Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall as part of a Gulf Coast Symphony concert. Classes meet Monday through Thursday, from 4:15pm- 5:30pm. Instruments are provided for free in this program, and need-based scholarships are available (*proof of income will be required). There are discounts for multiple children enrolled in the program.
