Gulfshore Ballet with Gulf Coast Chamber Orchestra: Divertissements
The Gulfshore Ballet joins the Gulf Coast Chamber Orchestra at the Music and Arts Community Center for an evening of classic ballet and French music.
Divertissement is the French word for a “diversion” and in the ballet world, a “divertissement” is a short dance that displays a dancer’s technical skill. The program combines orchestral performances of short pieces of music by Ravel, Debussy and Ibert, and also accompanies dancers from the Gulfshore Ballet with music from La Bayadere and the Pas de Trois de Odalisques for a night of charming diversion and entertainment.
Andrew Kurtz conducts, with original choreography by Iliana Lopez and Franklin Gamero.
