INSIDE BROADWAY is a new cabaret series at the MACC, hosted by Dr. Andrew Kurtz and pianist Julie Bearden Carver, that gets up close and personal with Broadway performers. Join us for an intimate evening of storytelling, secrets, and song.
Sal Viviano debuted on Broadway in The Three Musketeers, and his career continued with roles in hit productions of Romance / Romance, City of Angels, Falsettos, The Life, and The Full Monty. Off-Broadway, Sal has co-starred in more than a dozen shows, including – Closer Than Ever; The Big Time; Golf, The Musical; Beau Jest; Cather County; Weird Romance; Catch Me If I Fall; Broadway Jukebox; Joseph Papp’s Hamlet, The Opera, and many more. He also starred in the 20th Anniversary production of Maltby and Shire’s Closer Than Ever, directed by Mr. Maltby, and also recently co-starred as Billy Flynn in the smash hit Chicago. On tour, Sal’s starring roles include Evita, Anything Goes, The Pirates of Penzance, Pippin, Hair, and Sunday In The Park With George. Sal’s Television guest appearances have included Law & Order, Search for Tomorrow, Ryan’s Hope, One Life to Live, All My Children; and more. Sal’s Feature Film credits include two songs in Charles Herman-Wurmfeld’s Legally Blond 2; starring as Damian in John Fasano’s cult classic heavy metal Rock thriller Black Roses; starring as the hero in Fasano’s The Jitters, appearing with Ernest Borgnine and recording 2 songs for Paul Morrissey’s Spike of Bensonhurst, and recording Disney’s Life with Mikey’s title song. Sal has performed an incredible 900 symphonic Pops concerts with well over 250 symphony orchestras – including Gulf Coast Symphony – at some of the most iconic concert halls and venues around the world.
Liz Larsen appeared on Broadway in The Most Happy Fella revival (1992), Hairspray, The Rocky Horror Show, Damn Yankees, Starmites, and Fiddler on the Roof (her Broadway debut), and she has performed in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical since its opening in 2014. Her performance in The Most Happy Fella resulted in an LA Drama League Award and nominations for a Drama Desk Award, an Outer Critic’s Circle Award, and a Tony Award. Liz also starred as Dot in the 1997 regional revival of Sunday in the Park with George at Arena Stage opposite her real-life husband Sal Viviano, which earned her a Helen Hayes Award. She later returned to the show as the Old Lady (George’s mother) in the 2023 production at the Pasadena Playhouse. Although she has dozens of screen credits for film and television, Liz is best known for playing Jessica Reed on Law & Order, and recently starred in the 2025 comedy film Baltimorons. Additional television roles include The Sopranos, Third Watch, The Americans, Mr. Robot, and film credits include Dr. Jekyll & Ms. Hyde, Keeping the Faith, Bridge & Tunnel, The Boy Downstairs, and For Worse.
Sal & Liz have been married for more than 30 years and they have two children.
