Joshua Henry’s Get Up, Stand Up

Joshua Henry’s Get Up, Stand Up

Tickets ranging from $50 – $100

Three-time Tony-nominated Broadway powerhouse Joshua Henry—currently bringing audiences to their feet as Coalhouse Walker Jr. in the acclaimed Broadway revival of Ragtime—joins the Gulf Coast Symphony for a one-night-only concert experience that celebrates the soul of America’s music.

A star of Hamilton, Carousel, and Into the Woods, Henry has earned praise as one of the most electrifying voices of his generation, captivating Broadway with his charisma, artistry, and astonishing vocal power. His performance in Ragtime at Lincoln Center’s Vivian Beaumont Theater has become one of the most talked-about events of the season—earning rave reviews and an extended run through June 2026 as it heads toward Tony Awards season.

His other notable performances include Dr. Jim Pomatter in the Broadway restaging of Waitress and Gaston in Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration. He also portrayed Jake in the 2011 Broadway production of Porgy and Bess and Noble Sissle in the original Broadway cast of Shuffle Along .

Audiences may recognize him from the 2021 film adaptation of the musical tick, tick… BOOM! as Roger Bart for which he received a Black Reel Award nomination. He starred alongside Andrew Garfield, Alexandra Shipp, Robin de Jesús, Vanessa Hudgens.

In Joshua Henry’s Get Up, Stand Up!, this extraordinary artist brings his signature energy off Broadway’s biggest stage and into the concert hall. Backed by the full symphonic sound of the Gulf Coast Symphony, Henry pays tribute to the timeless spirit of R&B, funk, soul, and rock ’n’ roll—with unforgettable renditions of classics by Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Nina Simone, Sam Cooke, John Legend, Bruno Mars, and more. The evening also features powerful selections from his Tony-nominated Broadway roles, blending theatrical intensity with heart-pounding groove.

Don’t miss this rare chance to experience one of Broadway’s most compelling and important voices live in concert—an artist who, as critics agree, “blows our hair back” (Entertainment Weekly) every time he steps to the microphone.
