Professional Musical Theatre That Rivals Broadway—Right Here in Fort Myers

The Southwest Florida Theatre Company brings the magic of live musical theatre to the heart of Fort Myers with Broadway-caliber performances at the Music & Arts Community Center. From beloved classics to contemporary gems and original works, our productions feature professional actors and singers from across the country—many with real Broadway and national tour credits. Performed in an intimate, state-of-the-art venue, each show offers a thrilling, up-close experience that sets us apart from anything else in the region. Past productions include Camelot, Murder for Two, The Thing About Men, Route 66, Nunsense, Forbidden Broadway, Forever Plaid, The Last Five Years, and the world premiere of Snowbird Follies, an original musical created by our leadership team.

Our company is led by Dr. Andrew Kurtz, President & CEO of the Gulf Coast Symphony and founder of the Southwest Florida Theatre Company. With over three decades of experience as a conductor and arts leader, Dr. Kurtz brings a bold artistic vision and deep commitment to elevating the performing arts in our community. Music Director Julie Bearden Carver—a powerhouse performer, pianist, and musical director with a national reputation—lends her signature energy and expertise to every production. Together, they’ve built a company that delivers unforgettable musical theatre with precision, heart, and flair.
