Gregory Fobes

Teaching Artist

Gregory Fobes began working for MusicWorks! in 2016. Native to the East coast, he graduated from Sebastian River High School in 2010 as an avid member of the two hundred twenty plus piece band as a trumpet player. Mr. Greg received his Bachelor in Music Education with emphasis on instrumental music from Florida State University and was a member in the acclaimed “Marching Chiefs”. Although Mr. Greg’s expertise are in trumpet pedagogy, his education from FSU gave him the skills necessary to teach all instruments typically found in a public school system. This includes all string, brass, and woodwind instruments. He also received training in voice, steel pan and guitar. Mr. Greg is currently teaching himself how to play accordion as well.

In his final semester, Mr. Greg began his career with an internship in Vero Beach. At Vero Beach High School, under the supervision of Mr. James Sammons and Mr. Colbert Page Howell, Mr. Greg helped run and maintain a two hundred and forty plus band program, teaching marching band, three jazz bands, three concert bands and a percussion class. Upon graduation from Florida State, he accepted a job as a secondary music teacher at Sebastian Charter Jr. High, teaching music history, theory, and guitar to fifth, seventh, and eighth grade students.
