Gulf Coast Symphony celebrates Beethoven with Masterworks at the MACC Jan. 9

October 26, 2026

Gulf Coast Symphony invites audiences to celebrate the enduring genius of Ludwig van Beethoven with Symphony Masterworks at the MACC: Beethoven, Saturday, Jan. 9, 2027, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., at the Music & Arts Community Center (MACC) in Fort Myers.

The program brings together Beethoven’s powerful Symphony No. 7 and his majestic “Emperor” Piano Concerto No. 5, featuring a special guest pianist, as well as a contemporary work inspired by Beethoven’s musical legacy – Orpheus: Symphonic Variations on Themes by Beethoven, composed by Farhad Poupel, Gulf Coast Symphony’s Composer in Residence.

This concert explores Beethoven’s extraordinary influence across generations, creating a compelling musical conversation between Beethoven’s monumental voice and the creativity of a living composer inspired by his legacy. The program is part of Gulf Coast Symphony’s 2026–27 Masterworks at the MACC season, a series dedicated to bringing celebrated orchestral repertoire and musical discovery to Southwest Florida audiences in an up-close performance setting.
