Jessica Huckabey

 

Jessica Huckabey is currently working as an independent producer and theatrical artist in Orlando, Florida.  A citizen of both the USA and the Netherlands, Jessica is originally from Kansas City, Missouri. Jessica holds a BFA in Theater from New York University/Tisch School of the Arts/Playwrights Horizons Theatre School. As an actress/singer/dancer and member of Actors Equity Association, Jessica has performed in numerous regional productions, theme parks, and dinner theaters, including Sleuths Mystery Dinner ShowsUniversal Orlando, and Walt Disney World. In New York, Jessica performed at multiple venues, including singing with a professional choir at Carnegie Hall, as a contemporary dancer at Symphony Space and Dixon Place, and as an improvisational actress in the Off-Broadway show Overheard at Joe’s. Jessica has also worked as a show director, choreographer, and theater and dance educator, and she directed the Off- Off Broadway production of Death of an Insurance Salesman. In 2018, Jessica successfully produced Overheard at Joe’s: New Orleans, at the InFringe Festival in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 2021, Jessica became the founder and President of the non-profit Central Florida Stages.  Her mission is to forward the growth of theater and the performing arts by producing existing and new works, promoting the growth of “Off-Broadway” entertainment, and acquiring and refurbishing buildings in the Central Florida region into new performance spaces.  Through the non-profit, Jessica provided production support and costumed the workshop of the immersive musical Whisper Darkly with writer/director DJ Salisbury, and now supports this production of Gypsy by providing props and general production assistance.
