Nathaniel Zhang
Pianist
Nathaniel Zhang, 16, lives in Folsom, CA. He has received accolades in numerous piano competitions, including First Prizes at the MTNA National Junior Performance Competition, Virginia Waring International Junior Solo and Concerto Competitions, and Henry & Carol Zeiter Piano Competition. Nathaniel has performed as a soloist with several orchestras, including the Seattle Symphony, Auburn Symphony, Philharmonia Northwest, and Florence Conservatory Orchestra. He is also a prize-winner of the Hilton Head International Piano Competition, International Piano-E Competition, Arthur Fraser International Piano Competition, and San Jose International Piano Competition, as well as a finalist in the National YoungArts Competition.
Nathaniel was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall at the age of 8 and had his first solo recital at 10. He played piano for 1st graders in elementary school, and his story was featured on ABC’s World News Tonight with David Muir, segment “America Strong.” He was recently featured on NPR’s From The Top.
Nathaniel has worked with great musicians including Arie Vardi, Yoheved Kaplinsky, John Perry, Boris Slutsky, Alexander Korsantia, Michelle Cann, and Alexander Kobrin. He is also an avid chamber musician. He studies with Dr. Sasha Starcevich.
