SYMPHONY MASTERWORKS AT THE MACC
Haydn & Mozart
Gulf Coast Symphony’s Masterworks at the MACC 2026-27 season kicks off with a celebration of iconic composers Franz Joseph Haydn (1732 – 1809) and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 – 1791).
The program begins with Haydn’s Symphony No. 103 (“Drum Roll”), followed by a short intermission and then Mozart’s Symphony No. 40.

Franz Joseph Haydn
Franz Joseph Haydn (March 31, 1732 – May 31, 1809) was an Austrian composer of the Classical period. He was instrumental in the development of chamber music such as the piano trio. His contributions to musical form have earned him the epithets “Father of the Symphony” and “Father of the String Quartet”.
