The Gulf Coast Jazz Collective opens it 5th season with a concert celebrating the music of Charles Mingus, Christian McBride, and Jazz Collective Bassist Brandon Robertson. Experience the innovative and soulful sounds of jazz bass icons in a performance that promises to captivate and inspire. Mingus  was major proponent of collective improvisation, and is considered one of the greatest jazz musicians and composers in history. McBride has already won 8 Grammy Awards in his storied career.  And Robertson is dynamic, young, EMMY® nominated bassist whose is quickly becoming one of his generations most well known composer, teacher and performer.
